I did my Undergraduate studies in English (as a Major) from Assam University, Silchar (1998). Subsequently I did my Master's and MPhil in English from JMI, New Delhi (2000 & 2002 respectively). I worked on Translation studies and Tagore translation in particular during my MPhil research. In 2002 I joined Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for my doctoral studies on Translation Studies. I specifically worked on politics of translation in the context of Mahasweta Devi's works translated by Gayatri Spivak and the gendered/ideological paradigms addressed. I have written course content on film studies for University of Delhi and also for the IGNOU study material. I have also been part of international literary/research bodies such as ATINER, Athens, IACLALS, ATSA and so on. During my teaching tenure of about 17 years, I have been teaching courses on Modern European Drama, European Classical Literature and cultural studies.
