CONFERENCE THEME

India is now known as Young India as more than 65 per cent of its population is below the age of 35 years. To maintain social balance, it has become imperative to think in terms of increasing skills and opening maximum manufacturing units to provide employment to such a big young segment. A strong focus is thus, needed on providing skills to convert this young segment into entrepreneurs. Additionally, over the years, there seems to be an increasing trend of setting up manufacturing units in India by various MNCs. Thus, to harness this increasing inward movement of MNEs and put India on the world's manufacturing map, a programme named Make in India was launched on September 25, 2014. This programme covers 25 important sectors of the economy providing impetus to entrepreneurs for startups.

Highlighting the importance of this programme, the official reports state, "In a short space of time, the obsolete and obstructive frameworks of the past have been dismantled and replaced with a transparent and user-friendly system that has helped in driving investment, fostering innovation, developing skills, protecting Intellectual Property (IP) and building best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure." (www.makeinindia.com). All these factors would lead to an increase in our global competitiveness in the long run. In fact, India ranks 77th in World Bank's Doing Business 2019 Report which makes India the best ranked from the South Asian region. It is important to spread information about these advantages among the younger generations.

In this scenario, as an education institute, we aim to discharge our social responsibility by organizing this conference & convention to provide platform for meaningful engagement with various stakeholders for innovative solutions to our budding entrepreneurs and try to address the problem of unemployment.
